Hand embroidery on wool
All approximately 35 x 25 cm
This personal project was inspired by my time working in a nursery school and a continuing interest in child psychology, art therapy and speech & language development.
It aimed to capture the specific point in a child's learning where meaning is starting to be put to what might seemingly be random scribbles, by translating the children’s spontaneous mark making into detailed hand embroidered pieces.
